Who is this article for?

This article will be useful if you are using PartnerStack to manage your partner program, partners, payments, and more.

Overview

All partner portals within PartnerStack contain program-specific navigation items like Links, Referrals, Resources, and Messages. These provide important pieces of the partner experience and enable them to partner with your program successfully.

If you wish to customize the partner experience and provide easy access to important resources, you can add in a custom partner navigation item.

Adding in a custom partner navigation item can help you to create a welcoming and effective program experience for your partners, and ensure that your partners are getting access to tools and information they need easily within their portal.

Creating custom navigation items

Getting started:
You'll need the URL of a publicly hosted document that you want to share with your partners and full administrator permissions within your account.

Custom partner navigation items allow you to add a publicly hosted URL into your partner portal's navigation, which provides easy access to commonly requested items such as FAQ pages and resources.

You can create up to two custom partner navigation items for your partner portals. They can be targeted to partners in specific groups, multiple groups, or all groups.

Once a custom partner navigation item is created, it will be added to the bottom of the program-specific navigation within the partner's dashboard, underneath Messages.

Here is how a "Terms of Service" custom navigation item appears in the partner portal:

Click on "View" next to the one you wish to create.

From there, you can configure your custom partner navigation item. You'll want to configure the following items:

  • Name of navigation item - what your partners will see in their navigation. 25 characters max.
  • Destination URL - where the partners will land when clicking the item. Must be a publicly hosted URL, and must start with http:// or https://.
  • Which partners will see this item in their dashboard navigation? Select which partners you wish to have access to this navigation item. You can choose from:
    • All current and future partners
    • Specific group(s) (up to 32 groups)

Assigning a custom navigation item to specific partners

As you are adding custom partner navigation items, you can select which partners you wish to have access to them.

When creating the partner navigation items,

  • Which partners will see this item in their dashboard navigation? Select which partners you wish to have access to this navigation item. You can choose from:
    • All current and future partners
    • Specific group(s) (up to 32 groups)

If you wish to limit which partners have access to the custom navigation item, select the "Specific groups" option. Then, you can add multiple by choosing your group from the dropdown and selecting "Add". Then, you can select and add other groups.

Tracking custom partner navigation items activity

You can get data and report on custom partner navigation items by adding UTMs to the destination URL of the partner navigation item.

We do not provide in-app reporting for partner navigation item link activity at this time, but appending UTMs to the destination URL will allow you to access data outside of PartnerStack.
