What are Drip Rewards?
Drip Rewards are a type of reward that allows companies to either delay or cycle your generated rewards, instead of them being generated on your Partner Dash immediately.
Why would a company want to delay or cycle a reward I've earned?
There are a few situations where delayed or cycled rewards are put in place by a Company, which will be explained below with examples.
Delay
Delays are most commonly used when there is a refund policy for the product you are promoting for a company.
For example, if the company offers a one-month refund period after a product is purchased from your referral. When your referral purchases, you will not immediately be rewarded but the transaction will be tracked and accounted for. If your referral does not request a refund, you will be rewarded after that 30 days on the standard PartnerStack payout schedule.
To further explain - If your referral signs up and purchases on May 28th, you will see the scheduled Drip Reward to be eligible on June 28th. Then following the PartnerStack payout schedule linked above, you will be able to cash out as of July 13th.
Cycle
Cycles allow a reward to be paid out over a certain period of time and are commonly used when your referral purchases an annual subscription up front. This isn't always the case and isn't the only case where this would be used, but is a common use of cycled drip rewards.
For example, your referral purchases a yearly subscription; and the company honors a prorated refund if the referral cancels months into the subscription. Instead of paying the full reward all at once (in case the referral cancels mid-year), your company will pay your reward over a set period of time.
An example of what that might look like:
- Referral purchases a $1200.00 annual subscription
- You are offered a 20% reward of all annual purchases and will be paid out over 12 months
- 20% of $1200.00 purchase made = $240.00 total reward earned
- $240 paid over 12 months = a $20 reward paid out each month, for 12 months
Navigating the Drip Rewards section in your Partner Dash
Drip Rewards are housed in Payouts Tab > scroll down to Drip Rewards:
In the Drip Rewards section, you will be able to view your earned drip rewards and see the following:
The Description of the reward (which usually entails the reward percentage, the transaction amount, the customer name and transaction date)
The Company providing the reward
- Which company you earned that reward from
The "Next Reward" field
- Confirms the next date a reward will be generated for that reward, for a specific transaction/signup/action
The "Earned" field
Rewards will be listed as $0.00 / $0.00 until a reward has started paying out to you
For a delayed drip reward, you will see $0.00 / $20.00. Once you reach the "Next Reward" date, it will show as $20.00 / $20.00 and be marked as complete.
For a cycle drip reward over 12-month period, you will see (example) $0.00 / $240.00. Each month, the $0.00 column will accumulate +$20.00 until the maximum reward of $240.00 is met. Month 7 of a 12-month cycle (where you are paid out $20 for 12 months) would look like $140.00 / $240.00.

The value of the "Next Reward" to be earned
Drip Reward statuses include (and are visible in the 'Next Reward' column):
archived/manual - The reward was removed for a determined reason (the company made a decision to decline, a refund occurred, etc)
partnership_archived - the partner isn't in the program and is no longer eligible for the reward
target archived/purged - the transaction/customer/lead/deal/etc that triggered the reward was removed
cycle_complete - all rewards from the drip were earned
Pending Rewards:
This view is only applicable to standard rewards (non-drip rewards) generated from standard offers (these are rewards/offers that are not delayed/cycled)
Reporting Tab
The Reporting tab only tracks standard offers and rewards (at this time). For updates on generated revenue, earned and pending rewards relating to Drip Rewards, please refer to your Payouts tab > Drip Rewards section.
Not every program on PartnerStack uses Drip Rewards, but it's important to understand what the difference is in case you are in multiple partner programs and are exposed to multiple types of rewards in your partner dashboard.
