Tax forms
Tax is not taken off your withdrawal at the time of withdrawal. When it comes to tax time, your tax forms (such as 1099-K) will be provided by your payout provider, Stripe or PayPal. You can also download a withdrawal receipt from your PartnerStack dashboard.
To find out which payout provider you are using, please visit your Commissions tab. For more information on the available payment providers see the Adding a payment provider support guide.
How to get tax forms from Stripe
Per the IRS’s requirements, Stripe issues 1099-Ks to Stripe accounts associated with a unique Tax Identification Number (TIN) that have accepted at least 200 charges, totaling $20,000.00, or more, through their Stripe account. Please see Stripe's support articles for more information on 1099-K forms:
How to get tax forms from PayPal
PayPal will track the payment volume of your account(s) to check whether your payment volume exceeds both of these levels in a calendar year:
- $20,000 USD in gross payment volume from sales of goods or services in a single calendar year

How to get tax forms via PartnerStack (for direct deposit)
If you withdrew commissions from PartnerStack using direct deposit in 2025 or would like to withdraw commissions using direct deposit moving forward, you are required to submit a W-8 or W-9 form. You can access your Tax Forms through a quick link in your Commissions tab, or through your Network profile/ team settings. US entities and individuals are required to complete a W-9, and non-US entities and individuals are required to complete a W-8. Please note that filling out a W-8 form does not mean that you must file or pay US taxes.
Your W-8 or W-9 form will take less than 5 minutes to complete and covers information such as your first name, last name, and business information.
- The W-9 form is for entities/ individuals of the US with an SSN or TIN
- The W-8 form is for non-US entities/ individuals
As per legislation, PartnerStack will provide and file a 1099-K to a partner who has BOTH of the following:
- $20,000 USD in gross payment volume from sales of goods or services in a single calendar year
- 200 transactions - meaning individual payments/ withdrawals from PartnerStack
Where can I find my 1099-K form?
If you have filed a W-9 within the deadline and meet the requirements for a 1099-K, a 1099-K will be provided and downloadable from your PartnerStack Tax Forms tab.
Why do I need to fill out a W-8 or W-9?
PartnerStack is a US entity and is subject to tax reporting requirements set by the US Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Specifically, PartnerStack is required to collect tax forms from each partner who withdraws commission via direct deposit and to provide a 1099-K tax form when applicable. This applies to both US and non-US partners. Please note that filling out a W-8 does not mean that you must file or pay US taxes.
If you choose to withdraw your commissions using Stripe or Paypal you will not be prompted to submit tax forms through PartnerStack. However, both Stripe and PayPal are also required to collect tax forms on their platforms.
